Inca Trail – Daily Walk Through

Have you ever wanted to see what our Inca Trail Trek looks like? Well in this daily walk through you can see the trip from start to finish.

Day 1 – London – Lima

Today is day 1 of our Machu Picchu, Inca Trail Trip. Today we are starting the journey from London to Lima.  

Day 2 – Explore Lima

Today is day 2 of our Machu Picchu, Inca Trail Trip. We arrived in Lima late last night and today we have a tour of Lima in the morning and an afternoon of exploring.  

Day 3 – Lima – Cusco

Today is day 3 of our Machu Picchu, Inca Trail Trip. Today we are departing Lima and heading for Cusco. Cusco sits at 3399m above sea level so you certainly notice the difference when flying in from Lima!

Day 4 – Sacred Valley Tour

Today is day 4 of our Machu Picchu, Inca Trail Trip. Today we are having an acclimatisation day and visiting the Sacred Valley. We depart Cusco and spend the day visiting various Inca Sites throughout the valley.

Day 5 – Inca Trail Trek Day 1

Today is the day we start the Inca Trail  

Day 6 – Inca Trail Trek Day 2

Today is Day 2 of the Inca Trail Trek and Day 6 of our trip. This is the toughest day and the one where we tackle the Dead Womens pass (4215m).

The pass is nearly 1800m higher than Machu Picchu itself. This day is certainly a challenge and one which most trekkers fell a high sense of acheivement getting to the top!  

Day 7 – Inca Trail Trek Day 3

Today is Day 3 of the Inca Trail Trek and Day 7 of our trip.

Today is a short day, yesterday was the uphill day and today we have to go downhill! Today we get to take on the Gringo Killer.  

Day 8 – Machu Picchu

Today is Day 4 of the Inca Trail Trek and Day 8 of our trip.

Today is the day we have all been waiting for! It is time to get up early trek to the Sun Gate for our first view of Machu Picchu! Lucky for us we had the perfect weather.

Day 9 – Rainbow Mountain Add-On

Today is Day 9 of our trip.

Today is a rest day for the group. Some of the group decided as they had visited Peru they wanted to visit Rainbow Mountain whilst they were here. So we decided to join them!

This day is certainly a challenge (Rainbow Mountain is 5200m of altitude) and one which most trekkers feel a high sense of acheivement getting to the top!

It is certainly the highest most people had ever been!
